IMA response to YouTube's suspension of Novara Media


Following reports that YouTube suspended the account of Novara Media for a period earlier today, a spokesperson for the IMA said,


"Novara is an independently regulated publisher which is held to the highest ethical standards. Google’s decision to suspend the publisher’s YouTube account, however briefly, was an attack on the independent media and the principle of freedom of speech."


“No regulated publisher should fear censorship from unaccountable technology companies. Google must ensure that independently regulated publishers are exempt from Google’s sanctioning policies."
